Design 2390 Stevens 47

We have posted a number of articles about spin-offs of this venerable design. This is the original, designed as a cruising boat for blue water sailing. Its a great boat and her center cockpit design mkes her comfortable and safe for any group. These boats are very popular in the charter trade. They are virtually indestructible.

Not to be confused with Sparkman & Stephens, these were originally developed by Bill Stevens of Annapolis. The boats were introduced in 1981. Approximately 60 boats were built during this initial run. I would have to go back and look at how many total boats were produced over the Stevens 47, Hylas 47, Stevens 50, and Hylas 49 production runs. The Hylas 49 is still produced today.

Here are the plans.
